Blog Post #18

Blog Post #18

So I thought about writing how I started this whole blog thing. It started because in Year 1, I had a couple of friends who had blogs and I thought it was a pretty interesting way to express your thoughts, share your ideas and stuff.

And so I started my first blog post in March 2014 regarding my trip to Marina Barrage on World Water Day 2014. I didnt complete my first post but I published it anyway. I guess it just gets a little tiring to narrate every single thing that happened on that day.

Then a few months down the road, I went back to my inactive blog and decided to check out some statistics. And I realised that wow that was a lot of +1s (is it?) but anyway there was a huge number beside the google plus sign. So I was like woah so maybe people are reading my (incomplete) blog post. I monitored it for a while and it just keeps increasing every day and I seriously had no idea what that was (even up till now).

So I decided to you know revive my blog, give an intro, etc. And then I decided I could post some card making tutorials. So I did. But then I stopped after a while. Then, during the last December holiday, I uploaded quite a couple of blog posts.

And I continued in January, posting along some book reviews. I knew of Grandma about the second week of January. (Though I highly suspect it is 7 January.) And I was pretty upset the whole time. So in February, I started this Thought of the Day thing. To sum up my thoughts for that day in one sentence. And I'm still continuing it up till today.

And I guess my blog kinda turned into an online diary.

Blog Post #17

Blog Post #17

Hey guys. I'm really sorry for not blogging for such a long time even though it's supposedly the holidays. And that card blog post that I promised is still sitting on my desk, not even touched yet. There's so many things I planned to do during the holiday but I just realised that I havent accomplish anything yet.

There's the crocheting of the green frog. (I have decided to make a green frog for my mum for her birthday and because its kinda a big project, I have started it in May even though her birthday's in November.) But I was supposed to get a darker shade of green yarn and I'm too lazy to go to Daiso to get it. And so the frog's sitting on my desk too. I have only completed the head. Here's the link for those who are finding something to crochet: http://littleyarnfriends.com/post/40495014677/crochet-pattern-lil-kerokeroppi

Then there's also the notebook project which I'm planning to do. After watching a video from youtube, I got inspired and wanted to create more other different designs of these fun to make DIY notebooks. But up till now, I havent even come up with the designs. But I did come up with the different animals that I could integrate. I have 10 animals in total (though 3 of them were ideas from the video) Here are they:

  • Pig
  • Rabbit
  • Mouse
  • Monkey
  • Frog
  • Cow
  • Cat
  • Dog
  • Sheep
  • Chicken

If you are interested, please check this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-vQEQkJr6I I would post my designs on this blog if I ever came round to finishing them.

I wanted to come up with new card designs too but as you can see, I'm already late in posting my tutorial card post. I wanted to make cards for my friends' birthdays and for teachers with regards to Teachers' Day just so I wont have to rush and do a shabby job when the date comes near but now, I havent even come up with a single card design. And I wanted to make cards for my seniors who have left the cca. That is so overdue. And I also wanted to make something for the #Payitforward. Sigh. That sits on my desk too.

I wanted to do some carving too. Like carve out some paper cut designs onto my notebook. But uh oh too lazy to look for designs and oh well maybe I just dont care enough.

I wanted to read too. But I have already send a couple of books back to the library where they belong without so much as flipping through them. Oh! And by the way, I read the "A Monster Calls" book already and it's absolutely amazing. I have also found out that they would be having the movie next year!!! I'm so gonna watch it. My only wish now is that the movie is as good as the book, or even better. I lend the book to a couple of my friends but now, I know it's a bit selfish of me to think this way but I'm kinda regretting my decision cause now the book is not so much as a special thing to me anymore, now that I have shared it around with people. But I guess, amazing things are meant to be shared with others. I guess "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn would be next on my list to leave. Bye. Currently, I'm now reading "1984" by George Orwell, but I'm not sure if I would get the whole story when I come to the end of it. And so the books sit on my desk as well.

And you might ask why do I have so much things piling up on my desk. Well, if I didnt have so many projects on hand. And if I werent addicted to my game, Hay Day. And if I werent Vice-President of my cca. Then I would probably get more of these stuff done. But I guess this just teaches me that I need to manage my time better.

Thanks for reading (and understanding) and till the next time!
